About the Founders of Moxy Creative

Charles Purdy, Co-Founder and Partner

Charles Purdy is a former managing editor of Macworld magazine, a former senior editor of Yahoo! HotJobs, and the author of the book Urban Etiquette (Wildcat Canyon Press, 2004). He’s also a veteran of marketing teams at Monster Worldwide and Walmart.com. Purdy has been a working journalist for more than 20 years; his work includes design how-tos for CreativePro.com, travel features for Genre magazine, and an interview with international superstar Fabio—so clearly his range knows no limit (and that’s just counting his bylined projects). His full body of work includes non-fiction books that he worked on as a ghostwriter, countless press releases and ad copy for Fortune 500 brands, and a year’s worth of horoscopes for a very popular website (Purdy is a Leo). Purdy brings almost two decades of editorial, content-management, and copywriting experience to Moxy Creative, along with a solid portfolio of spokesperson work, having represented previous employers on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox Business—as well as having been the resident etiquette expert on Kimora Lee Simmons’s short-lived syndicated talk show, Life & Style.

Paul Tawadrous, Co-Founder and Partner

Paul Tawadrous is a retail marketing, PR, and communications veteran, with more than 20 years of in-house and agency experience. He began his career in commercial promotions in Chicago as a production assistant, scriptwriter, and PR writer working with international brands such as Motorola and L’Oreal. A permanent retreat to the balmy climes of San Francisco led to a string of positions with some of the most recognized names in retail, starting with Banana Republic, where he developed and executed creative for consecutive seasons of the brand’s national in-store, direct mail, PR, online, and print campaigns. Among his most memorable projects there was writing Banana Republic-sponsored “Style Alert” vignettes for the pilot season of a quirky new Bravo TV reality show called Project Runway. In the decade since, Tawadrous has continued to build his retail marketing bona fides with in-house, contract, and digital-agency copywriting and content work for prominent brands like J. Crew, Pottery Barn, Bare Escentuals, Clorox, Dell Computers, and Walmart.com. (Tawadrous is also a Leo.)
